NBA Dream Team Salary Simulator: Build Your Ultimate 5-Man Superteam
Pick one player at every position and see whether your dream NBA lineup can survive the salary cap. Five stars. One budget. Almost impossible choices.
Choose a PG, SG, SF, PF and C without blowing your budget. Player prices are simulator values rather than official contract salaries.
Your Dream Starting Five
Fill all five positions to complete the challenge.
Player Market
Tap a player to add him to your starting lineup.
Your front office is open
Pick one player at every position. Your challenge is to build the strongest possible lineup without destroying the budget.
Can You Actually Build an NBA Dream Team Under the Salary Cap?
Building a fantasy basketball superteam sounds easy when money does not matter. Put an elite creator at point guard, surround him with explosive scorers, add a dominant two-way forward and finish the lineup with an unstoppable center.
Then the salary numbers appear.
The NBA Dream Team Salary Simulator turns that problem into a quick team-building challenge. Instead of simply choosing your five favorite basketball players, every selection consumes part of a limited budget.
Spending heavily on one superstar can force you to hunt for value somewhere else. Suddenly the question is not simply who the best player is, but where your money creates the most valuable starting lineup.
How the NBA Dream Team Simulator Works
Choose Your Budget
Start with the salary-cap challenge or loosen the rules by moving to the tax, apron or superteam modes.
Fill Five Positions
Build a traditional starting lineup consisting of one PG, SG, SF, PF and C.
Watch the Budget
Every selection increases your team cost. Your salary tracker follows you while you browse players, so you always know how much money remains.
Beat Your Own Lineup
Rebuild your roster and see whether you can create more Star Power without increasing your total salary.
2026–27 NBA Salary Cap Benchmarks Used in the Game
The simulator includes several budget difficulty levels inspired by NBA team salary thresholds. The individual player prices, however, are simplified simulator values designed specifically for this game.
| Budget Mode | Amount |
|---|---|
| NBA Salary Cap | $164.961 million |
| Luxury Tax Level | $200.428 million |
| First Apron | $209.015 million |
| Second Apron | $221.686 million |
| Superteam Sandbox | $250 million |
These spending levels give the challenge a recognizable basketball framework, while player values remain fictional game numbers. They should not be interpreted as official salaries, cap hits, contract values or financial information.
Different Ways to Build Your NBA Dream Team
Two-Superstar Strategy
Spend aggressively on two franchise-level stars, then search for efficient options at the remaining three positions.
Balanced Five
Avoid the very top price tier and create five strong players whose salaries are relatively similar.
Elite Creator Build
Spend heavily on an elite offensive engine and surround him with lower-cost size, shooting and defense.
Defense-First Build
Instead of chasing five high-volume scorers, prioritize versatile defenders and spend heavily on one primary offensive star.
Why Salary Limits Make Dream Teams More Interesting
Ask someone to name the five best basketball players they would put together and the answers can become predictable. Add a budget and every decision suddenly has an opportunity cost.
Do you pay a premium for a superstar point guard if another elite creator is already available at small forward? Is an expensive center worth sacrificing talent on the wing?
Would you rather have one generational player and four bargains, or five players from the tier immediately beneath the league's most expensive stars?
Different combinations can produce completely different basketball identities while costing almost exactly the same amount of money.
That turns the simulator into a miniature roster construction problem rather than simply a list of your favorite players.
NBA Dream Team Challenges to Try
Once you complete your first lineup, rebuild it with extra restrictions. Try creating the highest Star Power score possible without exceeding the standard salary-cap mode.
You can also build a roster where no single player costs more than $40 million, create the cheapest complete starting five possible, or select one superstar first and refuse to remove him while constructing the remaining four positions.
Another challenge is to use the Random Team button and then improve the generated lineup without increasing its total cost.
